I grew up in London and Nigeria

How did you get into photography?

I got into photography from the film City of God. Rockets character really resonated with me and the circumstances of how I got into film are very similar. People I would say, in terms of schedules, it's hard to shoot people if they are not on your same time length but everything else seems to be an ease, well for me anyways.

Nostalgic, bright in colours and very grainy. The new films produced these days make images look digital which I’m trying to veer away from, I really like the posters and photographs of works from the 60s-80s.

In your opinion what makes a good photograph?

Composition and lighting make a good photograph, in my opinion

Why do you choose to work with film?

Because you have to have a preconceived notion of what that image is going to look like before and after that shutter clicks. When I put a film in for development, getting them back feels like Christmas or my birthday, till this day that feeling never fades.

Would you ever shoot digitally?

I have previously, but whenever I do shoot digitally, I mimic how film pictures look, so till I start earning big bucks, which I hope I do lol, I’m sticking to film.

Who have been some of your favourite people, brands or companies you’ve worked with?

I worked with polar skateboards and converse in London as well as Boiler room. Being new to Melbourne is making me eye up new potential collaborations to explore. I hope they like my shit.

What challenges do you face being a photographer in Australia?

I’ve only been here for a year so I can’t really say I’ve experienced a lot of challenges, in fact none, I’ve been very lucky and grateful so far.

Are there any individuals you’ve always wanted to photograph?

All my friends, which I’m in the process of doing or I already have, I don’t believe in idolization. If I shoot someone who is “famous” then we are both lucky for the opportunity I guess.
